What is the Archive Page? #

The archive page is a page that shows the list of posts, combined by one parameter.
Examples:

  • posts of a single category
  • posts of a single tag
  • posts for a year
  • posts for a month
  • posts for a day
  • portfolio pages of single portfolio category
  • custom post types of single custom taxonomy

Archives Layout screen allows managing archive pages areas globally based on a post type.

Every Archive page may consist of the following areas:

  • Header. The top area of an archive page. By default is the same for all archive pages. You can edit Headers or create new ones on the Headers page
  • Title Bar. The area of an archive page between Header and Content. Title Bar displays the content of specific Page Block. By default, it's turned off and could be activated at Theme Options > Advanced
  • Content. The main area of an archive page. Always displays content populated via page editor (built-in WordPress or WPBakery Page Builder or any other builder)
  • Sidebar. The area of an archive page at the side of the content. You can edit Sidebars or create new ones on the Widgets page. By default, it's turned off and could be activated at Theme Options > Advanced
  • Footer. The bottom area of an archive page. By default is the same for all archive pages. The footer displays the content of specific Page Block

How to apply a custom layout to an Archive Page? #

  1. Create a Grid Layout under Impreza > Grid Layouts
  2. Create a Content Template under Impreza > Content Templates
  3. Populate the Content Template with the desired elements
  4. And add the created Grid Layout via Grid element of WPBakery Page Builder to the Content Template, also set this Grid to show Current query
  5. Assign this Content Template to the desired archive type to the content area
